I tried many times to get Hotmail/Live mails in my Outlook 2007. But whatever I do, I always got an error during setup. Later, I figured that I can’t get free Windows Live Hotmail mails in Outlook, for that I will have to have a paid subscription. Then only I can do so. But if I wanted, I can definitely install Window Live Mail Desktop on my machine and get all my Live Hotmail mails delivered right there on my desktop. But not in Outlook.

Little strange as if it is possible for Microsoft to provide that utility to get the mail on the desktop with Window Live Mail Desktop then why not in Outlook. And that too when Outlook is its own software. Can’t digest at all…

Finally, Microsoft recently released a download which can bring Windows Live Hotmail to your Outlook 2003 or later. This add-in is called as “Microsoft Office Outlook Connector”. Download by following the link and install on your computer. Before installation, make sure you exit Outlook. For more information, please read the FAQ document on the above link itself. But this connector still comes with a catch, and the catch is you can’t get the Hotmail calendar sync with Outlook. I don’t understand why?

Anyways, now with this I don’t have to check my Live Hotmail mails separately through browser IE7 when I can Gmail in Outlook. Yahoo, Rediff, Indiatimes and many others still have the same constain just to make their Plus services popular. Let them try. And let us see how long…. I am pretty sure very very few people will be signing up with those services when you have free services available.

For now lets enjoy with Outlook Connector…
