Don’t you ever think how many overwhelming options are available for social networking these days? See the picture below (I have tried to put together the options I am aware of.)

Most popular as of social networking per say are Orkut, Vox, LiveJournal, Friendster, Live Spaces, Linkedin, MySpace, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter and Xanga. But others like Digg, Del.icio.us, MyBlogLog, StumbleUpon, Yahoo 360, Blogger and Technorati are quite popular for bookmarking, blogging and technology updates.
How many of them do you really register and how many of them do you regularly visit? Do you keep them updated always? Do you reply to the posts or submit latest updates on these social networking sites?
If you try to keep your profile updated then you will feel the burnout. Either you won’t have time for yourself or you won’t be doing anything productive at all.
I myself suffer Social Networking Burnout even when I am not a user for all the services available. Every now and then a new service comes into picture and in some way or the other looks better than the previous one. Moreover you never know when some big company acquires one popular service. At present I have the following profiles, if you want please join me as a friend.
- Digg Profile
- Facebook profile
- Vox account
- Live Spaces
- Technorati profile
- Del.icio.us account
- StumbleUpon profile
- I have accounts on Linkedin, Orkut, Yahoo 360, Flickr and I definitely have an account on Blogger.
The condition becomes worse if you are a blog writer or publisher. Because then you need to make sure you submit your content there to get more readership or at least your friends know what you have written lately.
