You r da man…
You got yourself a place in my blog sidebar at least.
This much information should be
ok to start with for now.
I will plan to set up a separate domain with wordpress.
Thanks for your help.
Have a nice day…
Cheers
Anurag
I can provide you with technical help in shifting your blog from to your own domain… however:
1. First of all you’ll need to get a domain and hosting space. If you ask for recommendations on these issues, I’ll refer you to my friend (from Mumbai) who runs a large hosting network under his own company Xisto Corporation (www.xisto.com). Here’s a rough idea on how much it’ll cost you to run it independently..
A .com domain’s going to cost you around $7.99 per YEAR. That’s about Rs. 320. And if you opt for the cheapest hosting package (which is pretty good in terms of features) – it boils down to $3.33 per month, i.e. Rs. 133 per month.
Your yearly operating cost will be (domain + hosting * 12 ) = (320 + 133 * 12 ) = Rs. 1,916 (round it off to Rs. 2,000 per year).
If you’re willing to spend that amount you can have your independent domain based blog up and running in no time… or you can look around if you can find any cheaper deals.
2. If you’re looking for a FREE alternative, I suggest you visit the Astahost forums (www.astahost.com). That’s where I started off with my web-presence. That’s a forum (under the same Xisto Corp) that gives you FULLLY FEATURED FREE HOSTING in exchange of posts on their forums. Since you’re an accomplished writer, you shouldn’t face any difficulties starting off there. About 10-15 posts and you’ll have accumulated enough credits to keep your site running for months at end. You’re free to attach your own domain to your hosting space there. That’s how I had started off there and later on, once my blog was doing good, I decided to move off to their paid hosting scheme with a greater set of features.
A couple of things to keep in mind here.. You’ll loose out a bit on Google juice, since all your articles will be hosted under a different domain. But if you set-up redirections properly, it wouldn’t take long (lesser than a month maybe) for your new site to be indexed properly by Google.
Moreover, you’ll have to manually update whatever scripts and referral programs you’re using to reflect the change in your domain.
That’s all I can think up at this moment. If you have any queries, do write back

Thanks a lot for this quick response.
Actually that’s one of the problem I face while searching for theme. Most of the good themes are available for wordpress and very few for Blogger.
I am stuck with Blogger right now. Not sure if I have a domain how do I move my blog to wordpress. Everything looked quite costly when I looked at their site.
If you can help me with that. I will appreciate it.
Cheers

Err.. you got me in a fix here. If it was WordPress I could have pointed you to plenty of them… or helped you design one – as I’m pretty adept at converting standard CSS templates into fully functional WordPress themes. But when it comes to blogger themes, it’s zero-knowledge for me
I’ll keep a watch out and let you know if anything catches my eye.

Thanks for the suggestion my friend…
Recently I changed my blog theme and I am always on the look out for a better theme with some eyecandy and all, but there is none which attracted me too much.
If you have some suggestion or pointers, I will appreciate it.
Cheers
Thanks for the add on indiblogger.. You got a good set of articles in here… but as an off-handed suggestion – you can certainly do with a better theme. You got the primary requirement, i.e. content going good. All you need is some eye-candy and you’re all set
Cheers & Keep up the good work,
