The very first thing any blogger or teacher like to do is to create a How-to about something. It might be a demo for some web application, a How-to for a small science project or something like that.

Generally it takes lot of time to create a screen capture of some tutorial which involves lots of grabs with lots of editing later on. But that is a old school concept.

Now, with ScreenToaster, you don’t have to waste so much of your precious time. Just follow some simple key strokes and start recording your screen cast. And don’t worry about audio, you can add your voice over it later on.

The best thing about ScreenToaster is that it runs directly from a web browser, so you don’t have to install anything. Although you can screen cast anything outside the web browser too. It allows you to choose which parts of your screen you want to record, add subtitles, and then host those videos online and embed these videos anywhere you want to.
Moreover, it is OS independent, so works with Windows, Mac and Linux.

It is really very easy to use. Simply start and stop the recording with a keyboard shortcut and easily add voice-over recordings and subtitles afterward.

Though only drawback right now is you can’t add voice while you are creating the screen cast. And you can’t download that screen cast to your desktop. (May be that feature is added once it is released for public.)

Only comparable services, I know of, that does the same thing this easily are Screen-o-matic and Jing. Jing is one of my favorites. In fact both of these services also have some limitations unless you are a premium customer.
