I am sure you all got Google Sync working with your calendar and contacts on iPhone or Windows Mobile devices. Now your life is in sync with Google – ;)
One thing which is still not here is the TODO activities.
Not sure about you, but I keep adding all the activities I need to do using a tool from Toodledo – Ultimate Todos. The application is FREE for a limited time. Generally it costs $4.99 and is available through iTunes Stores.
Features of this application are really rich including:
  • Synchronization with online Toodledo.
  • Assign task based on priority, context, tags, timeline and importance.
  • Voice notes
  • Reference contacts from you iphone contacts
  • One touch task completion and
  • Home screen badge showing the number of tasks due today etc..
Check out Toodledo to see what all you can do using it whether online or from your iphone. BTW, the service is FREE but you can upgrade to PRO as well if required to get even more option. Frankly speaking, Toodledo offers many more features than Remember The Milk and offers much more functionality for a FREE account.
Once you start using Toodledo and have the iphone application ‘Ultimate Todos‘ installed on your device, it is really very easy to be on top of your tasks and put them on your calendar for easy reminders.
Please check out the connections setting in your Toodledo account to make it easy to update your task list using Twitter, email, Google gadget and many other APIs, even sync with Microsoft Outlook.
But our main motto right now is to sync Toodledo Task list with your iphone calendar.
OK, so follow these steps once you have set up Google Sync and have a Toodledo account for your todo activities:
STEP 1 : Adding Toodledo to Google Calendar
  1. Login to Toodledo account.
  2. Click on ‘Connections‘ link in the left sidebar.
  3. Scroll down to see a block for ‘iCal Subscriptions‘ as shown below.
  4. Check box for enabling ‘Live iCal Link‘ and save changes.
  5. Once the changes are saved, you will see couple of links for .ics subscription which you can add to any calendar like Google & Apple Calendar etc.

  6. Copy the link for Google Calendar.
  7. Now go to your Google calendar through Gmail.
  8. In the sidebar, click on ‘Add -> Add by URL‘ link.
  9. Paste the link you copied above from Toodledo and click on ‘Add‘.
  10. Your Toodledo to do activities are now on your Google calendar.
(Please note : The activies are synced once a day, so you might not see the changes quickly in your Google Calendar if you recently synced.)
STEP 2: Syncing TODO Calendar with iPhone
  1. Please follow this article to add your Toodledo (todo) calendar to your iphone using Google Sync. You can sync upto 5 calendars in your Google account to sync with iphone calendar. So just select this new calendar among one of those 5 calendars you are syncing with iphone.
  2. Now enjoy updating your todo list with your iphone.
  3. Use ‘Ultimate Todos’ to add and update task details.
  4. Ultimate Todos from iphone synchronises these tasks to your online Toodledo account.
  5. This in turn gets synced with Google Calendar.
  6. And Google Calendar syncs with your iphone calendar. See the below image to see the process flow.
