How to REJECT or IGNORE a call on iPhone?

Because when the iPhone screen is locked, the only option you see on screen at the time of incoming call is ‘Slide to answer’.
So how do you reject if you don’t want to answer the call.

My friend, there are couple of things you can do depending on what you want.
- If you want to just let it ring but wanna mute the ringer. So that you can go out of a meeting room and answer the call in a bit. To do that you can press the button on the top ONCE and it will mute the ringer. Alternatively, you can press the volume bar at the sides to mute the ringer as well.
- What if you don’t want to accept the call at all and what it go to your voice mail instead. The trick is to press the button on top quickly TWICE. That will reject the incoming call immediately and send the caller to your voice mail.
- If your iPhone screen is not locked, you are presented with an option to Answer or Reject the call.
It was really very hard to figure initially but iPhone comes with lots of short cuts which comes in handy by using various combination of pressing the buttons on the device.
Another important tip for those who want to grab a picture of what is shown on the iPhone screen is to press ‘Home’ and ‘Top Button’ simultaneously. This combination will grab an image of the display and put it in ‘Camera Roll’.
Hope these two tips are helpful for over couple of million iPhone users around the world.

there should be one option like in samsung where you can set some particular no in auto rejection list or unknown numbers. Then you no need to press anything; simply call will be disconnected if you will get a call from that particular number (which u have added in auto rejection list ) or if you get a call from an unknown number.

By reject a call I mean I don’t want it answered at all. I don’t want it to go to voice mail, I want it dropped. Is there a way to do that?
Sightseeing throughout Australia on vacation last month, I realized after I received my bill that rejecting a call cost money on roaming. If you let the phone ring until it goes to voice mail by itself, nothing is charged, but if you click on the top button to silence the ringer and ‘inform’ the service provider you are rejecting the call, well, the act of ‘informing’ is considered roaming since you’re using their network to send a command to stop ringing and route the call to VM immediately. Be careful, it can be quite expensive. My procedure now when roaming and don’t want to answer a call, is to flip the silencer and let it vibrate until it goes to VM by itself.
That’s a little weird to understand.
If that’s true then the act of informing an incoming call should also be considered roaming. And if I am not wrong then to a certain extent it is right.
Now as I understand, roaming is to get connected to your original service provider while you are in not its network area. So to provide you service in that area, the original service provider makes contract with local providers to get to service. This is why you are charged high roaming charges.
If you want to avoid any kind of roaming charges, then just don’t use your phone while roaming. If you want then get another SIM from that country to save money on your bill.
Receiving and rejecting a phone doesn’t cost you different amount while roaming.
Let me know if you think otherwise.
I think network provider charges only if the caller leaves a voice-mail…I use a tip to disable my voice-mail when I am in roaming…as long as the caller does not leave a voice-mail there shouldn’t be any charge for you

How do I reject an incoming call completely so that the call does not go to voicemail? If I decline the call it goes to voicemail and I pay for that.
I want to reject incoming Blocked calls and calls from telemarketers without them having the option to leave a message for which I am charged.

This helps. I hope someone will develop an ap though, so when pirate/bogus telemarketers call (wanna lower your credit card rate?) or (want to buy an extended warranty for your car) that a clever ap will mimick the three tone pitch and recording, “WERE SORRY, THE NUMBER YOU CALLED HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED.”
When robot calls from pirates operating off-shore dial an “number disconnected” the three tones associated with that response trigger computer software to delete the “disconnected’ number. This would be the ultimate trick.
