CardStar – an iPhone apps which lets you reduce some weight out of your wallet and the key chain you have been carrying around for a long time.
CardStar lets you create virtual Merchant Tags with Barcodes that you can scan at the time of check-out. Cool, huh…. And the best thing, it is FREE for a limited time (generally costs $0.99). Here is the iTunes link for CardStar. 
Once you have installed the application on your iPhone, just click on the ‘+’ sign to start adding all your merchant cards to it. Check out the below screen cast to see how it works.
You just search the merchant in the directly filtered with categories and enter the number below the barcode on your physical card. CardStar will create a exact same barcode for you. This barcode you may scan at the time of check out. Best thing, once you have added the card, you don’t need any internet connection for this application to work. I will say it is one of the must have app in iTunes Store. Download and install it right away. You won’t need to carry those membership and reward cards anymore as long as you have your iPhone. And if you don’t find the merchant in the list, you may add one yourself. But for now, the merchant list of over 130 companies in 6 categories (Drug Store, Entertainment, Grocery, Gym, Retail and Travel) is there. So there is a very high possibility you will find most of the popular ones.
