How to send email in Hindi and other Indian Languages

Some days back I wrote about ways to write in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and other Indian languages on any website.  Now what if you want an easy way to send emails in Hindi using your favorite email service – Gmail.  Well its also not tough. Couple of easy steps and you are good to go.
Most of the steps you can understand through the below images only.  Still there are instructions for you:

  1. Log in to Gmail (or Google Apps account if you have one).
  2. Go to ‘Settings‘ on the upper right hand.
  3. Go to ‘General‘ Tab.  You should already be there by default.

  4. Check the ‘Enable Transliteration‘ check box, and
  5. Select your preferred language among Hindi, Kannada, Tamil etc.

  6. Save Changes on the bottom of the page.
  7. Try to ‘Compose Mail‘, you should see an extra icon as shown below.

  8. That’s it.  Enjoy sending emails in Hindi, Kannada etc.
