One good thing about recession is that the cost of living in America has become more affordable. Mint Blog has produced a map which show the data in various cities. This map shows how much the cost of living has changed in corresponding cities.
Looking at the data, it appears that New York, Washington DC, Houston and Seattle are not much affected with recession while Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, LA and Cleveland are the most affected cities. It has become more affordable to live in these cities.
On the other hand cost of living in San Francisco has actually increased.
