For some older Televisions, you may want to buy S-Video to RCA Video Adapter cable which will allow you connect a regular RCA cable to the video pin (Yellow) on your laptop. Because they don’t have any S-Video input. But all latest television provide you many options to connect various peripheral devices. See the image.
You can buy one of these adapters off e-bay for a dollar. But they come in very handy. Once you have connected the cables, then you need to just press the combination of “Fn+F8″ or “Fn+F4″ or something like that to transfer the video output of you laptop to your TV.
Remember, you will only see video on the TV, but the audio will be coming from your laptop only.
