Frequently I'm not really useful enough, or I just have no vision how you can promote professionally but I really just can't get hold of any kind of followers. I have taken a crack at following folks to get a friendly follow back, aids a bit but it just appears to be every person who does that would like the equivalent detail as myself, someone to browse their day-to-day drivel.

Twitter is already getting old and people don't need another Twitter site. Why would Yahoo think their application would be better?

I think the biggest difference in my opinion is because I didn’t do professional blogging or content creation, so I don’t have the need of spreading it to every channel I’m in. That kind of limiting the number of services I used if I tried keeping things unique in each places.

Because my (personal) contents would be noise to most peoples, I avoid that duplication of content.

Cross posting is good when you want to broadcast something, so that all your friends on various networks get the news. For example, a link to your latest blog post or something like that.
But if everything is being cross-posted, then it creates noise.
That's why while setting cross-posting features, one has to be really careful. You should be selective while cross-posting.
This is the reason, I use Friendfeed to update my Twitter status, Twitter to update my Facebook status, and so on. And I selectively update my FF status.
Posterous allows you to autopost, but in my opinion it creates noise on all the connected services as well as a threat of creating DUPLICATE content. If the content is being autoposted on your blog too. Isn't it.
But people might have different opinion about it.
Let me know your views about it.

The content we produce become more dispersed in a lot of various services isn't it?
With the availability of services like Friendfeed, I'm not really keen about cross posting stuffs to many sites rather than copying them to all. But making unique contents for each is difficult too.
