15 Must Have Adobe Air Apps for Social Media Enthusiasts

Adobe Air is a platform which provides a common ground to the applications so that they can be installed on any operating system, as long as Adobe Air can be installed there.  It allows developers to build rich web applications that can run outside of browser on multiple operating systems.  Users don’t need to worry about technical details to use these AIR applications.

Below is a list of 15 such Adobe Air applications for Social Media enthusiasts.  Just install Adobe Air on your computer (Windows, Mac or Linux) and then start installing the apps you want.  Here is the list:

  1. DestroyTwitter: DestroyTwitter is a robust but compact Twitter application.  It consists of a series of canvases that constantly update to keep tweets current and up-to-date using notifications that appear immediately after a new tweet arrives.  DestroyTwitter support only one Twitter account at a time.
  2. TweetDeck: Best Twitter & Facebook desktop client which helps you stay in touch with your twitter and Facebook followers.  You can see what’s happening right now and update your status on multiple twitter accounts.  TweetDeck shows you everything you want to see at once, so you can stay organised and up to date.
  3. Seesmic Desktop: Seesmic makes it easy to reply to them and share text, links, photos and videos all in one screen.  Seesmic is another most popular Twitter client.
    Both TweetDeck and Seesmic are adding features with blazing speed.  It become really very tough to decide which one to choose.  It turns out to be a personal preference and not the features to pick any one of them.Posty
  4. DestroyFlickr: The coolest way to browse through Flickr photos.  You will never visit Flickr again after using DestroyFlickr.  If you are Flickr user, I will suggest you install it right away.
  5. Facedesk: Facedesk is a standalone Facebook app which is just Facebook outside the browser that you can run separately on your desktop.  Something like Prism or Google Chrome application shortcuts.
  6. Posty: Posty simplifies microblogging. All you have to do is writing the message and clicking a button. Posty will automatically deliver your message to the services you selected. Currently supported networks are: Twitter, Jaiku, Tumblr, Friendfeed and Identi.ca.
  7. AlertThingy: AlertThingy brings the latest updates from your favorite social networks direct to your desktop. Send Tweets, update your Facebook status, upload photos to Flickr, post to Tumblr etc.  You also get the coolest looking RSS reader which makes it easy to share news items with your friends.
  8. Plurker: If you love plurk and want to update your status on Plurk with this app.
  9. MePing: MePing is simply a desktop replacement for Ping.fm on web.  You can update all your connected services (status, microblogs and blog) at the ease of your desktop with this app.  Just give it your Ping application key and you are all set to start.  Really a must have for people with multiple social profiles.
  10. Feedalizer: Feedalizer makes it easy to share images, links etc, view and update status on Twitter, Facebook, Friendfeed and Flickr etc.  Very sleek design and very helpful if you don’t have too many social profiles to maintain.feedalizr
  11. Desktube: You can guess is a Youtube client for Desktop.  That’s why “Desktop + Youtube = Desktube”.  Allows Twitter and Facebook integration as well.Desktube
  12. Tweetphoto uploader: If you use Tweetphoto to share photos on Twitter, then you may want to use Tweetphoto uploader.
  13. Filesocial Uploader: If you share files (images, video, pdf, docs etc.) on twitter very frequently, then Filesocial uploader will come in very handy.  It makes sharing files on twitter damn easy.Filesocial
  14. Tumbleweed: You don’t need to run into a browser, if you are working on Tumblr alone.  Think of it as a replica of Tumblr web interface which you can run in a standalone window.Tumbleweed
  15. Twhirl: Twhirl is a social desktop client for services like Twitter, Seesmic, Friendfeed and identi.ca. It allows to connect to multiple account at the same time, keep up with your friends’ updates, and share what you are doing.  Twhirl is provided by Seesmic.

Depending on which social network you are member and what is your personal taste, you may choose different applications from this list.  But what ever you choose, they are sure to enhance your experience.  The fact about all Adobe Air apps is that they are very intuitive and good looking.

  10. Sharefire is definitely a good option for RSS readers. But most seem to use Google Reader, so I skipped it from the list.
