As you may know that PC Magazine went completely digital last year.  Paper magazines are no longer published which is really a very right step towards a GREEN environment.  Obviously it saves the cost of production too.

People had to download a Zinio reader desktop application to read their subscription.  Some of the readers including me canceled the subscription because we didn’t want to install any application just to read magazines and there was no way to read those magazine on iPhone and other mobile devices.

Apparently, some days ago Zinio has added a FREE iPhone app in Apple store that lets you read PC Magazine and other titles on iPhone.  Just like Amazon Kindle, B&N Reader and other ebook readers out there in App Store, Zinio is free and syncs with your online library.  Having access to these magazines all the time makes it super easy to read them whenever you want.

You can just launch Zinio iPhone app and start reading any magazine in your library.  When you install the app for the first time, you get couple of free samples too to start with.  If you feel comfortable reading magazines on iPhone, you can buy and subscribe for more right there on iPhone.

Quick feature walk-through:

  1. Library Tab:  Lists all your existing title in your library.  Click on the link to start downloading it to your iPhone.
  2. Shop Tab: lets you shop and subscribe for more magazines available for iPhone.  (Currently not all titles are available on iPhone.)
  3. When you arrive at a page which has text/paragraph, a new icon appears on the bottom.  Click on this icon to read the text only version of that article.
  4. Click on the foursquare icon on the left to quickly browse thorough pages of the magazine.
  5. You can increase/decrease text as per your needs.
