Skype 5 brings Facebook feed, phonebook and 10 way Group Calling to your desktop

Skype – one of the best and most popular VOIP solution has just released Skype 5.0 for Windows. Skype 5.0 is a major release as it bring some really important features to your desktop. Most noticeable features are listed below:

Facebook integration:

Friends feed: Flawless Facebook integration with Skype 5 is the first and foremost feature you notice as soon as you install it on your Windows PC. Now you can access your Facebook feed within Skype. Just click on the Skype Home and then Facebook tab to start.

Phonebook integration: Besides being able to see Facebook feed in Skype, now you can also see your Facebook phonebook within Skype. So if your friends are on Skype, call them for free and if they have shared their contact details, then call them on regular phones using Skype.

Remember that you will be able to use Skype with those Facebook friends who have shared their contact information with you. Else you will not be able to call or SMS them using Skype.

Group Calling: 10 way group calling is one of the other feature you would love in Skype 5.0. You can use Skype to call upto 10 people at the same time. This feature is still in beta, so you may find some issues. Once Group calling comes out of beta, it won’t be available for free though. So use it while you still can. (Make sure everyone on the call is using Skype 5.0 to use Group calling.)
