Jux is a new blogging platform which I think is best suited for hobbyists and photo bloggers.  Because it makes the images you upload as the background.  The posts seem to look beautiful.
One real benefit of using Jux is that no space is wasted in borders, sidebars and logos.  So using Jux is all about you.
I created a new blog on Jux to give it a try and I had some hit and miss experience.  Below is my overall experience.  If you wanna check out my individual test posts, please visit http://www.knowliz.jux.com.

  1. When I tried to write my first post on Jux, it didn’t load properly.  But second time it worked perfect.
  2. The images don’t get centered, however they are zoomed to fill the screen.  This might not be the thing I want to do all the time.  I should get an option to select the region I want to use in the viewing area.
  3. However I liked the ability to search for images to add to the post.  For some reason searching on Flickr didn’t work for me.  I liked how can edit photos, change font style, size and color etc on the fly and individually for the posts.
  4. As I said, Jux is most suited for photo bloggers because they can use it to create their portfolios by showcasing images in full screen.
  5. I am not sure if I would use it to replace my Tumblr blog yet and if it is ready yet to compete with Tumblr or Posterous either.  It is definitely a good start.  Eye-candy effect of posts can bring some people over, but there is nothing so unique that users will want to ditch their existing platform.  And I think the same effect can be achieved using WordPress and Tumblr themes.

So in my opinion it was a good experience overall using Jux, but I won’t be making a switch just yet.  Hope you like this short review about Jux and agree with some of the items I mentioned.  Give Jux a try yourself and let us know in comments how you like it.
